Projects

As discussed in the introduction, the WinFence program is based upon the project concept for data storage. Using this method, a separate Microsoft Access 97 database is used to store each project for each application. Each project is stored in a separate directory, which can be on the same computer or spread across a network. The number of databases for each project will depend upon the applications being used for that project. If for example, the WinLoG and WinFence programs are being used with the project, there will be two project databases.

The names of the project databases are the project name combined with the application name. For example, if the project name is "980205" then the project database name of the WinFence data would be "980205winfence.mdb". Typically, this project would be stored in the subdirectory "\980205".
