What are the system requirements?

WinFence requires the following hardware and software to run efficiently:

•  A computer running Windows 2000/NT or XP;
•  An IBM compatible PC;
• 256 MB or more of RAM;
•  At least 60 MB of hard disk space;
•  A CD-ROM drive

There is a discount for universities and colleges of approximately 50 percent.

What are the GAEA Databases?

 A brief Description of all the main WinLoG Databases and database types is provided below:

 1)      WinFence.mdb

This is the main WinFence database. It is used to store WinFence templates.

 2)      gaeaproject.mdb

Stores a list of project database locations. It is stored in the same directory as the  main database.  Click File and Preferences to view /edit the main database location.

 3)      WinFence Project Databases (ProjectID + ‘WinFence.mdb’

Stores all project related information. These Databases are stored in a location of the users choosing. That are named as such:  ProjectID + ‘WinFence.mdb’. Therefore, if you had a Project with ID as River then the name of the project database would be RiverWinFence.mdb.

** The default database directory is c:\program files\gaea\database **

How do I Update the WinFence Database?

 Click on the new cross-section button

 You will then get a Dialog Box with the words below.

There are no well locations in the WinFence database. Would you like to update the database?

Yes / No  

 Click YES. That will update the WinFence database with the WinLoG boreholes.

 

Synchronize the Bitmaps

You will want to use the same bitmaps in WinLoG as you are using in WinFence. Therefore Click File, then click Preferences to edit WinFence’s Preferences.

 

 Edit this directory so that it points to the WinLoG bitmaps directory.
